Instagram comment from pistolpete051970 "Is purple your favorite color? Ink and wash looks magnificent!!! 🔥🙌❤️ " Thanks @pistolpete051970! The theme for this collection IS purple. As far as the color scheme goes, the purple and blues seemed to capture that ethereal space look that was a theme throughout the collection. Each Magical Muse Library book has its own special color scheme that represents that muse. Let's go through each illustration one-by-one. 1. Divotted TurfCompleted color illustration for the wonderful poem by Johnny Francis Wolf, called "Divotted Turf." This poem will take you on a journey, just like this boy and girl flying above the city with their magical umbrellas. 2. "Walking Among the Stars" This illustration is published in Ourania's Orrery of Imagination Imagine next to the Magical Glossary. Imagine going to sleep and dreaming of flying around the galaxies and exploring new planets. 3. "Rats in Space"This illustration accompanies a story about a human hybrid lab rat sent to space. The story was inspired by a real life experiment in 1961 that sent a chimpanzee named Ham into space. He had to rely on his wits and training to get back to Earth. 4. The StargazerThis illustration accompanies a poem in "Ourania's Orrery of Imagination" by William Basco and Lester Linsangan called "The Space Beings." It begins, "the glimmering moon in the starry sky..." 5. "The Secret Room"This illustration goes to Alice De Crowley's short story "The Secret Room" which is all about discovering a trove of knowledge and artifacts including scrolls, tablets, and ancient books. This short story is an amazing test of any child's vocabulary! 6. "The Star Children"This original illustration is from a poem by Riley Kilmore in Ourania's Orrery of Imagination" called "Small Revolts" that begins, "When the star children came to Earth..." 7. Cafeteria Food FightGoes with the short story "Stars in Her Hair", by Abigail Wild. It is a magical middle grade fiction story about adventuring in outer space and finding friends at a new school.
